Agents CD ROM

You must have Symantec Corporation Act! Contact Database Software to utilize this CD-ROM database (see item #7 below). If you do not have it, buy it. It is an invaluable tool to maintain control of who, what, where, when, how and why to mailing your scripts. Not only for professional use, the program will be your main mailing list and database for your personal affairs. We use this database and highly recommend it. It truly is a valuable tool to manage personal and business contacts, mailing lists, mailing label and envelope printing, reminds you of birthdays and other events, logs responses from agents, reminds you when to resubmit scripts, e-mail messages, maintain schedules and too much more to explain here. The program is expensive, but well worth every penny spent.

The CD-ROM has search fields already inserted, so agents can be searched by a specific genre. Example: You only want to mail your query letter to agents that specialize in action / adventure movies. The ACT! program and this CD-ROM database will search and locate the agent or production company that only specializes in the action / adventure genre. This saves you valuable time. You won't be wasting your time and money reaching agents that do not specialize in the genre. Example: You only want to send a query letter WGA Signatory Agents. The CD-ROM database will search and find them for you in less than two seconds.
Query letter management: you select your query letter from the ACT! document list, mail merge and all the agent and production companies are custom inserted into your query letters for you. You simply print the letters and the envelopes. You can mail dozens of query letters quickly.
The CD-ROM lists USA agents and production companies. Non USA firms are not listed.
Compatibility: you must have the Symantec ACT! software program in order to run this CD-ROM properly, unless you have a database program that specifically will import ACT! databases. Some programs say they can, but will not retain all the rich features available on the CD-ROM. It's best to purchase the ACT! program. We only guarantee the CD-ROM will function properly with the ACT! software program. The CD-ROM is PC Compatible. We don't know at this time if it will work on Apple computers with ACT! software installed.
Book Authors: Most all of the agents in the CD-ROM do represent author's books, but the CD-ROM will not search the database to specifically find book literary agents. There will be a few dozen agents listed that do not specialize in books. It will filter and search out only the literary agents from the film production companies and producers.
The CD-ROM also lists some film producers and directors.
There will be undeliverable addresses due to some companies moving, etc., but the list has over 600 contacts and for the low price of less than $20 you are getting a good deal!
The listing of agents and production companies is not a one-time use. You get to use them over and over again for the rest of your life. Other mailing lists require that you pay for each use, but we don't do that.
