I strongly recommend shotgun competition shooters to read both, Trap Shooting Secrets and Precision Shooting - The Trapshooter's Bible. If you read these books you simply can't go wrong. Just follow the steps outlined and you'll leap ahead in the ranking of any competition you'll attend. That's my recommendation.

Precision Shooting book and your Trap Shooting Secrets book is precisely and exactly what this sport needed for many years! Reading your books was like taking a breath of fresh air. I ordered the Precision Shooting book after reading your Trap Shooting Secrets book. Great information! I've been waiting for years for something like this. I always knew the pros were holding back or not giving out the real way to shoot. I have several videotapes and they always seem to leave some little tip or procedure out.

My advice on reading your books is to read and study only a few pages at a time, as you suggest. Otherwise the brain goes into overload as you give out a LOT of information.

I tried your tip on calculating the proper side to shoot a target (the non-straightaway straightaway target) in practice last Saturday. Shoot it on the wrong side or try to center it and you just get a regular break. Shoot it on the proper side and get a smoke ball!

I'm looking forward to trying out some more tips too. Thanks, too, for a great web page. It really got me thinking about how I could improve my trapshooting. I was so impressed with your web site that I ordered your books. I am even more anxious to get out and practice some of the new tips I picked up.

I wrote a year ago and wanted to update how much Trap Shooting Secrets book (and Precision Shooting book) helped my shooting. After the last PITA shoot last fall, I have continued to practice singles, handicap and continental. I was in kind of a a mini slump, but did not realize it until mid-January. I took out Trap Shooting Secrets and read it from beginning to end (again). I returned to the parallel foot stance and got that inner aggression going again. On 26 February 2005, I finally achieved my first 100 straight in singles. In fact, I got 137 straight before my concentration failed. I just want to say thank you one more time of the book. It is packed full of great information. Without it, I don't know if I ever would have gotten to 100 straight. Now I'm off to improve my handicap!
